Sri Lanka tourism wins four international awards at SITF 2026 in Seoul
Sri Lanka Tourism has won four international awards at the 41st Seoul International Travel Fair (SITF) 2026 held from June 4 to 7 in Seoul, South Korea, marking a significant achievement for the country’s tourism sector.
A key highlight was the presentation of the 2026 SITF Eminent Tourism Pioneer Award to Deputy Minister of Tourism Prof. Ruwan Ranasinghe in recognition of his contributions to the development and promotion of Sri Lanka’s tourism industry.
Foreign Employment and Tourism, Prof. Ranasinghe became the first Sri Lankan to receive the award in the 41-year history of the travel fair.
The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) also secured three awards at the event, namely the Best Popular Booth Award, Best Booth Design Award and Best Performance Award.
The awards were presented during the SITF 2026 closing ceremony on June 7. Sri Lanka competed alongside tourism organisations and destinations representing around 40 countries at the international tourism exhibition.
