Reckless Riding Clip Goes Viral; Suspect Arrested
A suspect linked to a viral social media video has been arrested in Nawagattegama, police said.
According to police, the arrested individual is a 19-year- old resident of the same area.
The video, which circulated widely on social media in recent days, showed two youths riding a motorcycle in a highly reckless manner, obstructing other vehicles travelling along the road.
Investigations revealed that the motorcycle had been travelling from Nawagattegama towards Anamaduwa along the Anamaduwa-Nawagattegama road, police said.
Following the inquiry, a team from the Nawagattegama Police Station arrested the rider yesterday afternoon.
The suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Anamaduwa Magistrate’s Court today, while further investigations are being carried out by Nawagattegama Police.
