D. A. Rajapaksa’s 53rd death anniversary commemoration
The 53rd death anniversary commemoration of D. A. Rajapaksa was held near his statue in Tangalle with the participation of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and his family members yesterday. The event was held with a limited number of participants following health guidelines considering the current COVID-19 situation in the country. Ven. Mandaduwe Dheerananda Nayake Thera and Ven. Mirisse Dhammawansa Nayake Thera conducted the religious activities. Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, his wife Shiranthi Rajapaksa and Ministers Chamal Rajapaksa and Namal Rajapaksa paid floral tributes to the statue. Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, Ministers S. M. Chandrasena and Mahinda Amaraweera and State Minister Janaka Wakkumbura also paid floral tributes.
