Rs.1 billion to be released to purchase paddy.
The Cabinet of Ministers has reached a decision to release Rs.1 billion to purchase paddy.
The purchase will be made through the Paddy Marketing Board.
The Ministry of Agriculture said plans are in place to purchase one kilogram of paddy from the Yala season for between Rs.90-95.
Farmers of several areas recently charged that there is no set price for paddy.
