Sri Lankan rupee depreciates 5.4% against US dollar in 2026
The Sri Lankan rupee has depreciated by 5.4% against the US dollar so far in 2026, according to the Central Bank’s latest Weekly Economic Indicators report.
The report also noted that Sri Lanka’s gross official reserves were provisionally estimated at US$ 6.77 billion at the end of April 2026, including proceeds from the People’s Bank of China swap arrangement.
