A new national digital platform, the “Sri Lanka Event Calendar,” was launched on Thursday (23) to provide a centralized source of information on events taking place across the country.

The official website, srilankaevents.lk, is designed to offer up-to-date details on cultural, sporting and business events, creating a single access point for both local and international audiences.

This initiative aims to strengthen the tourism industry by giving foreign visitors easier access to information on major events in Sri Lanka, while also creating new market opportunities for local organisers, businesses and artists.

The platform is also expected to improve coordination within the events sector and position Sri Lanka as a leading event hub in South Asia, while supporting efforts to increase foreign exchange earnings by combining technology with local talent.
