Over 379,000 New Vehicles Registered for QR Based Fuel Distribution System

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) says more than 379,000 newly purchased vehicles have registered for the QR code system as of last evening.

According to CPC, while a significant number of consumers have already signed up, several vehicles are yet to be registered.

CPC has urged vehicle owners to register as soon as possible for those who have not yet registered for the QR code system.

Distribution of fuel under the QR code system is being implemented island-wide, ensuring that fuel is issued to all vehicles, preventing the hoarding of fuel stocks.

The CPC acknowledged that the ongoing conflict in the Middle East has disrupted global supply chains, as attacks on oil production facilities and transport routes, which are key contributing factors for the uninterrupted supply of fuel, have led to a reduction in the global oil supply.
