630 Bribery Complaints Reported In January 2026, says CIABOC
The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption says that 630 complaints related to bribery were received during the first month of 2026 alone.
The Commission further noted that 11 individuals were arrested in January in connection with bribery offences.
Among those arrested were three political representatives.
In addition, legal action was filed against seven public officials during the month of January over bribery or corruption-related offences.
According to the Commission, court proceedings during that month resulted in state revenue amounting to Rs. 437,420.
